22 hours to go...

22 hours until the plane to SL departs! I've been pacing around the house, packing bit by bit, for much of yesterday and most of today - the usual dilemmas: 2 shirts or 3; should I take a comb? - broken up by a visit to the doctor after lacerating my thumb trying to remove the bike pedals prior to packing the bike in a box (gone are the days when you could just wheel the bike onto the plane, with some cardboard or bubblewrap around the rear derailleur). The damn pedal wrench slipped (it actually bent, just prior to slipping, indicating how tight the pedals were) and my thumb smashed onto the chainwheel (aka chainring - the big sprocket with lots of teeth for the chain). This, plus my gammy hip - probably from taekwondo - and my sprained shoulder - from a clumsy fall at ju jitsu - will hopefully not prove problematic. Fingers crossed!

Hope that thumb settles down quickly.

You'll be there by now with swollen thumb and aching joints from plane confinement!
Hope the tropical weather and exercise ease out the ailments. Spring has sprung here and the blossom has come out celebrate.

I've bypassed Spring & leapt into Summer. .. currently lying on my bed under the ceiling fan contemplating the idea of getting up & facing the day. Very warm, humid. Thumb OK.
